Nitrous Oxide Gas Plant
We offer Nitrous Oxide Gas Plants, which are developed in compliance with
international quality standards. The plant is capable of producing gas in
conformation to Indian pharmacopoeia which can also be stored in liquid
state to be directly filled into cylinders. These plants are specially
manufactured under the strict supervision of experienced engineers to ensure
the quality of product.
Key Features
- Electrically heated pots with temperature Controllers.
- Purification system for removal of impurities.
- Regeneration facility.
- Laboratory and quality control.
- Equipment safety systems.
|
For smooth functioning, the plant requires input of basic consumables
such as:
- Ammonium Nitrate
- Electric power 100 HP.
- Water cooling facility
- Good quality water supply.
|
Process Description
These plants are efficient in producing Nitrous Oxide by heating Ammonium
Nitrate to a temperature of about 2500C. Heat decomposes Ammonium Nitrate to
a mixture of Nitrous Oxide and super heated steam along with impurities such
as Ammonium Nitrate fumes, Nitrogen and other oxides of Nitrogen. These
impurities and steam can be easily removed by scrubbing with water, caustic
soda and sulphuric acid. Further, the nitrogen produced in modest amount is
easily separated by bleeding it from the top of storage vessel which stores
compressed Nitrous Oxide in liquid state.
Properties
- Nitrous Oxide is a chemical compound of Nitrogen and Oxygen with
chemical name N2O
- It is colorless, non flammable, nontoxic gas with slightly
sweetish taste and odor
- It can be easily distributed as compressed liquid in cylinders of
approved design
- It is easily combustible therefore organic oils and greases of
petrochemical nature are to be kept away from Nitrous Oxide gas
|
Uses
Owing to its chemical properties, Nitrous oxide gas finds usage in various
applications such as:
- Anesthetic purposes
- Gas can be used as a carrier, propellant for aerosols and food
material
